The NEW Prosperity Center,  is not only home to NEW’s administrative offices, it forms the  hub of the  NEW Community in Pico Union, just a few miles west of downtown Los Angeles. Residents of five NEW apartments: Casa Loma, La Posada, La Villa Mariposa, Tres Palmas, and EADS are within walking distance of the NEW Prosperity Center.

Convenient Access to Services
At the NEW Prosperity Center and sometimes in the community cetner of NEW apartments,  residents can participate in NEW’s educational programs including NEW Money,  NEW Health, NEW Safety, NEW Success, NEW Technology and NEW Para Prosperity. They can also take NEW Homeownership classes and obtain counseling and assistance to become a first-time homebuyer. At the NEW Prosperity Center, NEW residents can access health services at Arroyo Vista Family Health Center, take computer classes and utilize high speed internet.
NEW residents in the Pico Union neighborhood can utilize the nearby Westlake FamilySource Center which is operated by Central City Neighborhood Partners and staffed by NEW. At the FamilySource Center they can access a wide range of additional services and referrals.

Educational Support
NEW developed the NEW Academy of Science and Art (NASA) charter school in 2003 to provide a high quality public education to NEW residents and other students in grades K-5 living in the Pico Union neighborhood. NEW operates  NEW Learning Centers  at La Villa Mariposa, Casa Loma, and Eads Apartments to ensure that the children in grades K-5 get high quality after-school and summer programming. A middle school program for students in grades 6-8 is offered at Tres Palmas Apartments.
