Message from Maggie

Maggie Cervantes, NEW Executive Director

2011 has proven to be another harsh year for low-income families. Good jobs remain hard to find. To make matters worse, the funding cuts in education mean that many families simply will not have the opportunity to get training desperately needed in a changing economy. We are grateful to our supporters and encourage you to donate now and help NEW continue to be a safe and constant presence for families and communities.

NEW now serves over 10,000 people each year and our website is designed to be a solid resource for families, community leaders, policymakers and donors. NEW is featuring through NEW CASA the foreclosed homes that we have purchased, are rehabilitating and making available for low and mid income families to purchase. Our commitment to affordable apartments continues as well with the construction of Toberman Village in San Pedro that we opened at the end of 2011.
