Growing Assets

At NEW, we believe that families can transition out of poverty by building, protecting and growing their educational, financial and personal assets -- creating true wealth for themselves and their loved ones.

NEW Homeownership
Many people know that buying a home is one of the best investments to make, but feel intimidated by the process and requirements for purchasing a home. Through NEW Homeownership, NEW offers an array of services designed to help low and moderate-income families become and remain homeowners.  NEW helps homeowners who have fallen behind in their mortgage by providing foreclosure counseling.  And through the NEW CASA program, NEW purchases and rehabilitates foreclosed homes and puts them back on the market, increasing the pool of affordable homes available for purchase.

NEW Investments
The NEW Investments program, which is still in its developmental stage, is being designed for families who have successfully completed NEW Money, NEW Success, and NEW Para Prosperity classes.  The idea behind the NEW Investments program is to match professionally trained financial advisors to NEW families who are ready to begin gradually building up their assets through first time investments.

NEW Entrepreneurship
As an organization based on social entrepreneurship, NEW is eager and ready to create business ventures that will generate revenue to reinvest in our community.  NEW Entrepreneurship efforts to date include NEWCapital LLC., an entity that was formed by NEW to purchase properties to develop into affordable housing and to provide a full spectrum of property management services; Socos, a subsidiary corporation of NEW that provides green maintenance services to the properties NEW manages,  Latino Tech Net, a program which offers computer based entrepreneurial training and high speed internet access, and the Kitchen Incubator which is still in development, but is intended to help local entrepreneurs start and operate a food based business.
