About Family Source Centers
FamilySource Centers are located in some of the most impoverished areas of the city in order to assist and support residents in their local neighborhoods. NEW works with several additional partner agencies to deliver integrated social services to eligible families. The main goals of the FSC program are for families to increase their income and for youth to increase their academic performance. The FamilySource System completed its first full year of program implementation in 2011.  To read about its accomplishments, download  Highlights of FamilySource Center Accomplishments for Program Year 2010-11.

Each family who comes to the FamilySource Center is assisted by an English/Spanish bilingual staff person who personally assesses what the family needs, how they prefer to receive assistance, and their eligibility for public benefits.   They also verify the family income in order to provide service referrals. The referrals may be to the FamilySource Center partners, government agencies or community-based non-profit organizations.
